Between the Lines, a Stellar Spectroscopy Workshop

It is our pleasure to announce ‘Between the Lines, a Stellar Spectroscopy Workshop’, a mini-workshop taking place between 2nd and 4th of December 2024 at ESO-Vitacura premises, in Santiago.

Registration is now open, with deadline the 13th of October.

This is a mini-workshop focused on stellar abundance analysis, offering scientific lectures covering a wide range of topics (from nucleosynthesis and Galactic chemical evolution to chemical studies of planet-host stars) and hands-on sessions dedicated to determining stellar parameters and chemical abundances in FGK stars (from a manual, single star analysis to machine-learning based codes).

Scientific lectures will be held in the morning and are open to in-person and online participants, while hands-on sessions will be held in the afternoon and open to up to 25 in-person only.

The workshop is mainly intended for early-career researchers (final year of Master, PhD students and Postdocs up to 3 years after the PhD), with special focus on welcoming participants from the Chilean community.

There is no registration fee, and we will provide financial support for a restricted number of in-person participants from within Chile.
